NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY AND GENETIC ENGINEERING (NIBGE), FAISALABAD M.Phil. (Biotechnology) & Ph.D. (Biotechnology)
Introduction
NIBGE is a Centre of Excellence for human resource development in the field of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. It is affiliated with Pakistan Institute of Engineering & Applied Sciences (PIEAS) Islamabad for awarding M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. NIBGE is also an affiliate centre of the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) Trieste, Italy. As its tradition, NIBGE offers its platform to students who have very high passion for science and have self-confidence in enduring the challenges of highly demanding science of Biotechnology.
Application Procedure
•Submit duly filled admission form (can be downloaded from www.nibge.org) accompanied with attested copies of the certificates of qualification, domicile, character certificate, detailed marks certificate, three passport size photographs and no objection certificate from the employer in case of in-service candidates. Incomplete application form may cause delay in admission or termination of candidature.
• M.Philcandidates have to appear for written test
and interview .
• Ph.D. candidates have to appear for interview only.
• The candidates are advised to bring their original NIC,
academic certificates, domicile, thesis/research report and
a copy of publication(s) at the time of interview.
•Selected candidates will be required to submit university original character and migration certificates.
•A non-refundable bank draft/pay order of Rs.3000/- in the name of Head LAO, NIBGE should accompany the application form.
Eligibility Criteria
•For M.Phil minimum qualification of 4 years BS/M.Sc (16 years of education) with at least 2.5 CGPA (out of 4) or equivalent.
•For Ph.D. Minimum qualification of MS/ M.Sc.(Hons)/ M.Phil. degree (18-years of education) with at least CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) or equivalent.•Candidates with degree in the fields of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Botany, MBBS, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Zoology, Genetics, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Agriculture (All majors/specializations), Animal Sciences (All majors/specializations), Food Technology (Nutrition, Food Sciences), Microbiology, Physiology, Pharmacy, Microbiology & Molecular Genetics.•Preferably first class academic career, however, one second division is allowed except in the final degree.•HEC scholarship holders will be given preference.•In-service candidates may apply through proper channel.•Subject GRE/GAT-Subject test is mandatory for Ph.D. admission, as per HEC requirements.•Ph.D. candidates can apply at any time after qualifying subject GRE/GAT-Subject test.•Result awaited students can also apply with ‘Hope Certificate’ from their department/ University.
